First 30 Days

Learn more about the Fedora Project

  • Familiarise myself with the Fedora Project, and social media platforms

  • During the internship, I will focus on event management, the Fedora Ready initiative, and community management

Set goals for marketing campaigns

  • Define goals for the three areas I'll focus on during the internship.

  • Observe existing marketing outreach and take account of the data.

Content planning

  • Brainstorm a list of content topics

  • Post on social media platforms

  • Identify mediums of delivery for content topics (video, written)

  • Identify ways to repurpose and improve existing content

  • Create content strategy

Identify Fedora Ready vendor to promote

  • I created a page for Fedora Ready devices during the contribution phase. The main idea is to promote vendors who support Fedora in their systems

  • I will develop marketing campaigns for Fedora Ready vendors

Days 30 - 60

Content planning for the second month

  • Brainstorm a list of content topics

  • Post on social media platforms

  • Repurpose and improve existing content

  • Create content strategy

Events

  • Create social media content for upcoming events - DevConf CZ, Open Source Africa, and Flock

  • Develop content strategies for upcoming events

  • Write blog posts to share announcements and promote events

Fedora Ready

  • Continue with the marketing campaigns for Fedora Ready vendors

Measure metrics from the previous month

  • Make a report on campaign performance and outreach impact, check what worked and what didn't, and make improvements.

Days 60 - 90

  • Continue implementing marketing campaigns for Fedora Ready vendor

  • Continue implementing community strategies

  • Continue implementing event promotions

Analysis and Reporting:

  • Check analytics for all platforms.

  • Start compiling reports on campaign performance and outreach impact.

  • Prepare a comprehensive presentation on internship achievements, lessons learned, and suggestions for future outreach efforts.
